At Back in Action we look at every injury holistically - making sure we not only get rid of your pain, but that we identify and treat the root cause of the problem to ensure injuries do not reoccur. We focus on injury prevention and rehabilitation, using an exclusive, fully-equipped gym to address any imbalances. We assist clients with a wide range of sports injuries, but have considerable experience treating back and neck injuries. The curriculum is aligned with sound health and fitness principles from a wide range of disciplines including medicine, physiotherapy and sports science. Classes focus on building strong, balanced bodies, with a significant focus on injury prevention – vital as children are gradually exposed to mainstream sports and more strenuous physical activities. Classes are ideal for children diagnosed with low muscle tone, those with poor posture and those lacking core strength.

Lynotherapy is a method developed to find the cause of chronic recurring injuries, by assessing and treating the fascial system of the body. Fascia is the connective tissue which surrounds all tissues, and provides the integrity of the body mechanics. If the body is forced to move in a dysfunctional position of muscle imbalance and non-alignment, due to old scars from previous injuries or surgery, or to repetitive poor movement patterns or excessive strain, this results in chronic discomfort, pain or permanent damage.
Through the Lyno method we can assess and release the relevant lines that are the cause of pain and get the body back in neutral alignment.
In 2004 I was extremely fortunate to be introduced to Jackie. My back was in constant pain. Daily functioning was impossible not to mention sleep, without serious meds. Sport was something I thought I would never do again. Jackie’s magic hands, elbows, needles and hands on approach to strength building in the gym, got me back into shape again. 11 years later Jackie’s job is to keep this 54 year old doing what I love – 2015 achievements, East London Half Iron, ABSA Cape Epic and World Series Triathlon. Thank you Jax for all your care, friendship and inspiration over 11 years. Never leave Cape Town please.

I have known Jackie for over 20 years. She has always been passionate about health and fitness and has committed her life to assisting her clients to achieve their health, fitness and sporting goals. I have been actively involved in contact sports all of my life. As I reach my mid-40s, Jackie plays a vital role in assisting me with injury rehabilitation, as well as injury prevention - through smarter training and targeted strength and conditioning. Jackie’s expert interventions allow me to continue to achieve my health and fitness goals.

I was completely crippled with pain after the birth of my third child. It was too painful to walk. I had suffered from bad back pain since I was a teenager. I tried surgery and chiropractors but nothing helped. I was unable to pick up my baby and walk with her. I needed help. Jackie Wells quite literally put me on the road to recovery and I have never looked back. 12 years later I still go for treatments if I start to feel stiff but I no longer live in pain. I highly recommend this practice for it’s professionalism and compassion.

Jackie keeps me in the saddle. Without her fabulous work on my lower back, neck and knees, I would not be able to ride Dressage with the balance, flexibility and strength that being successful in this sport demands. She is a wonderful physio! Leanne Mostert - Springbok Dressage rider who has won the South African Dressage Championships and the FEI World Dressage Challenge on multiple occasions.
