Backinaction Physiotherapist
Jackie Wells
After obtaining her Physiotherapy degree from the University of Cape Town in 1997, Jackie spent several years in the UK working in a range of clinical settings. This included orthopaedics, paediatrics, and general sports injuries – specifically back and neck rehabilitation. Jackie also worked with elite athletes, as the physiotherapist for Cardiff Rugby Club and Fulham Football Club. Jackie was fortunate enough to attend a number of cutting-edge medical and sports science conferences while at Fulham Football Club – focusing on injury rehabilitation, as well as injury prevention.
Jackie returned to South Africa in 2004 and took over a thriving private practice linked to a Virgin Active Gym in the Southern Suburbs. This was the start of ‘Back in Action’ where Jackie combined joint and soft tissue mobilisation, fascial release, Lynotherapy, visceral mobilisation, strength and conditioning, and exercise rehabilitation to treat her growing client base.
Jackie has competed in road running, trail running, cycling and triathlons. Her own personal training journey enhances her understanding of her client’s unique health and fitness challenges. Jackie attracts and retains a number of clients who have been struggling with chronic injuries. Before finding Jackie, many of these clients have had little success, despite trying a range of medical interventions over extended periods.
